Howevert, I love travelling through the changing countryside of Australia. I have decided I am an old soul (with modern sensibilities though!) because I am so enamoured by aged worn landscapes and towns and things showing the passage of time. Old rumble tumble surfaces and junk make me go weak at the knees.
This time on our trip from Canberra back to Adelaide we turned off at Balranald, through to Ouyen and Pinaroo on the Mallee Highway. I love the Mallee countryside with its saltbush, white rock and birdlife. The landscape is muted and the sunlight seems more mellow.
